Clinical trial outsourcing continues to increase

More than one third of clinical trials for Pharma companies are being outsourced according to Pharma Times Online.  In 2011, the industry was worth $36.6 billion, a 6.6% increase from 2009.  Also in 2011, in-house development activities fell from 74% in 2010 to 62% in 2011.  This proves that outsourcing is a must for the majority of Pharma companies.  By outsourcing many of the Phases of drug development, these companies are taking the drug through the regulatory process and decreasing the amount of time to the market.

At the 2012 Partnerships in Clinical Trials Event, there will be a track titled, "Strategic Outsourcing" where you can hear first hand experiences on how other companies are working with and managing their strategic partners to which they outsource many of the phases of their clinical trials.  As a reader of this blog, mention code XP1700BLOG to receive an exclusive discount of 15% off the standard rate when you register to join us this March!
