Consider European sites for your tissue acquisition needs

Would you hesitate to purchase human tissue from outside the U.S. out of concern the shipping could take too long, the possibility of customs delays and a perception that it seems too complicated?

When working with human tissue procurement companies it may seem faster and easier to purchase tissue within the US, but it can be challenging to get all the tissues you need from US sources alone. What many people do not realize is that obtaining tissues from the European Union can be just as fast as getting them from US sources.

Because of the time difference between Europe and the United States, samples collected on a Monday morning in Europe can arrive at the start of business on Tuesday morning to a client’s office. Of course, this depends on the logistics abilities of the vendor providing the samples, but from a shipping perspective, this delivery is routine.

Another advantage of working with collection sites in the Eastern part of the European Union (Bulgaria and Poland for example) is that the disease prevalence and standard of care differences with the US can allow for more rapid collection of hard-to-find samples as well as larger sized solid tumor tissue samples and later-stage tumor tissues.

Finally, because there is generally less research being done in Eastern European sites, more tissues are made available to outside research groups.

If you are having trouble meeting your tissue acquisition needs, consider European vendors such as Sofia Bio who has been providing customized tissue acquisition services for over ten years. The company will also be exhibiting at The Business Clinical Expo meeting in Boston, September 19-20, Booth #339.   If you'd like to join us, register today and mention code XP1725BLOG and save 25% off the standard rate.  We look forward to meeting you!
