Partnerships TV: Innovation in the Pharma Industry

All week, we've been focusing on the impact of innovation and what it does in the Pharma industry as it stands today.  Least year at Partnerships in Clinical Trials 2012, Marc Dresner sat down with Bernard Munos, Innothink Center For Research In Biomedical Innovation to discuss how the Pharma industry embraces innovation.

According to Munos, in the 1980s, the innovation in large Pharma companies took place in the labs with the scientists free to investigate as they chose. Many acedemic innovations poured into Pharma where they then became commercialized. However, in the 1990s, as different leaders came into power, they changed the innovation process that did not suit the innovative culture that Pharma saw in teh 1980s.
