Maximizing Sponsor/Provider Relationships for Longer-Term Success

Joining the Partnerships in Clinical Trials speaking faculty this October is Jason K. Casarella, SVP, Business Development & Marketing at Advanced Clinical. Jason was kind enough to sit down with the PCT team and address some of the major trends and the biggest challenges that are impacting the industry today, as well as how you can maximize sponsor/provider relationships for long term success.

Trends in the clinical trial landscape:
The cloud-based technology trend continues to impact the abilities of both sponsors and providers to efficiently share and aggregate audit-ready, quality-driven data. Service offerings using cloud technology, such as risk-based monitoring and eTMF, are examples of streamlined communication platforms that offer complete visibility and create operational efficiencies.

Challenges in the clinical landscape:
To meet the growing demand for highly trained and motivated Clinical Research Associates, especially now with competencies required in analytics and sophisticated centralized monitoring (RBM) procedures, the industry needs to trained not only its experienced CRAs but also tap into the skill sets of more entry level staff with advanced degrees to enter the clinical research workforce.

Maximizing sponsor/provider relationships for longer-term success:
Familiarity often causes sponsors to routinely engage the same provider(s) for the same services. Truly maximizing the partnership, however, can mean exploring trusted supplier’s innovative solutions and expanded services. This allows solutions deployment in an atmosphere of trust and cooperation rather than with an unknown and untested supplier. Staying current on the offerings of proven supplier partners can produce synergies beyond the current relationship, maximizing both the time invested in the partner and success long-term.
